Acea is a multi-utility Italian company that manages and develops networks and services in the water, energy and environmental sectors. With over a hundred years of history, the company was founded to serve the city of Rome and has grown to become one of the leading multi-utility companies in Italy.
Every year, Acea presents its Business Plan to investors, analysts and the media through a physical event with data presentation, Q&A with investors, interaction with the press and speeches on the company’s future. In 2020, the restrictions imposed by the pandemic led to a radical rethink of the world of events, opening up the opportunity for the company to experiment with new solutions. To achieve this goal, our Partner Luther Dsgn proposed the creation of a fully online, 100% digital and live-streamed event. An advanced interactive experience with a striking visual identity and multilingual content.
A targeted strategy
To implement a strategy consistent with both the company’s needs and the activities proposed by Luther Dsgn, a series of analytical briefing sessions were initiated. The aim was to identify the key factors to ensure the application architecture provided an exclusive experience for connected users, without affecting the usability performance of various devices in any way.
To satisfy the requests, we analysed and created a WordPress application that would display the event, all managed on an ad hoc optimised Seeweb Cloud Server architecture. The perfect fusion between live streaming and television direction, with advanced and interactive content to engage users and offer a unique experience.
To maximise the platform’s performance and ensure it functioned perfectly, we carried out stress tests and guaranteed portability up to a capacity of 1,500 users at once. Actual estimate saw 320 req/sec on streaming page (no popup).
